About Makani Kai Yacht Club
Makani Kai Yacht Club (MKYC) is a small but energetic boating organization located on beautiful Kaneohe Bay, Island of Oahu, Hawaii. The club was first established in 1978. Club membership is open to residents of the Makani Kai Marina residential yachting community and those leasing moorings within the private marina. The residential community is a gated condominium association administered by a five-member board of directors. Facilities of the community include 79 townhome and apartment style residences (each with it's own boat slip), 81 boat slips, 13 acres of botanical garden style landscaping, clubhouse, picnic area, and swimming pool. MKYC holds monthly pot-luck style membership meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm in the marina clubhouse or the community picnic area. Activities of the club includes: sponsorship of an annual Hawaii Youth Sailing Association regatta, The MKYC "Beer Can" Race Series, raft-ups in the Bay, an annual sail to Haleiwa, interisland cruises, a fishing tournament, and other island wide boating activities. MKYC is also a proud supporter of the bi-annual Pacific Cup race and the Trans Pacific Yacht Race.
